Signs of spring

Its true that we have had a good deal of cold drab weather so far this year but there are now a few signs of better things around the corner. Many of our common birds are now establishing their territories and are in full song especially in the early mornings. Robins, Blackbirds, Song Thrushes, Mistle Thrushes, and many more have all been in song around the meadows in the last few days. Within a month we may well get the first of our summer visitors. Usually, Chiffchaffs are the first to have made the return journey from their African wintering grounds.
