I have had a few walks around the meadows since the new year and there has been quite a lot of bird activity. The central hedge has been the best spot with goldfinches, greenfinches, jays, redwings, blackbirds, song thrushes, mistle thrushes, great tits, blue tits, coal tits, long-tailed tits, nuthatch and of course wood pigeons. Many birds are already beginning to mark out their breeding territories by singing, especially on the brighter days.
