Nuthatch day
For some reason there were a lot of Nuthatches around today. Four were in the big oak tree and at least another two in the central hedge. There was also a Jay around and a Buzzard calling from somewhere up at the north end but I did not see it. The pool is now almost dry so not much there, but I did see a Blue-tailed Damselfly, the least common of the damselflies I have seen on the Meadows. There were also several Brown Hawker dragonflies, mainly hunting over the willow herb on the east side.
