I had a late afternoon walk, mainly to see if the recent rain had refilled the scrape. It had, but not by much. While I was there I noticed a Grey Squirrel in the trees alongside the railway track. I'm sure they are always around but that was the first one since I started the blog. I also found what I'm pretty sure was a Short-tailed Vole. Unfortunately, after an encounter with a cat it was dead and missing part of its head! Still it proved they are there.
The first unwelcome guest was the ever increasing amount of Bind Weed spreading away from the main road entrance to the meadows. This is a troublesome plant and can very quickly engulf an entire site. The other unwelcome guest was the lad on a motorbike who sped along the meadows at a ridiculous speed then up on to the railway track.
