I have been away for a couple of weeks and when I left it was still summer with butterflies and dragonflies still on the wing. Its very autumnal now, the pond is full again after the recent rain. Several Great Tits, Blue Tits and Long-tailed Tits were in the central hedge and a Jay was moving through the larger trees. A Willow Warbler was searching the hedge for insects before resuming its migration to Africa.
There are loads of berries on the trees in the central hedge so its only a matter of time before the Redwings and Fieldfares arrive to feed on them.
