Spring Migrants and a Butterfly

After a few very unpleasant days, this afternoon was quite good. There were at least two Chiffchaffs singing from the trees at the south end and in the remainder of the central hedge. These will have arrived recently from southern Europe or Africa. Nuthatches were busy carrying nesting material, and numerous Blackbirds, Tits and others were all nest building.
It was very pleasing to see a Peacock butterfly, my first butterfly of the year.
