First pond dip

Yesterday a photographer from the Sentinel came to cover our first pond dip from the new platform. Several enthusiastic children from the local school arrived with their teacher and a few of our members. The children were equipped with nets and several creatures were found, including a leach, tadpoles, pond skaters, water boatman and newts. It will be interesting to see what turns up in the future.
While I was there I heard a chiffchaff singing and saw several Common Darters, Southern Hawker and Brown Hawker dragonflies and an Emerald Damselfly.
